Apex Legends Guides: Settings, Legend Pairings and Ranked Points
3 guides for Apex Legends. The statistics side of the game (what it records and what it leaves out) is on the Apex Legends statistics page.
Three guides, three different problems
The Apex Legends set is deliberately unlike the other libraries here: its three guides address performance, composition and a game mode, and none of them overlaps with the other two. That reflects how the title is actually played. A squad loses to frame drops, to a legend pairing that has no answer to being pushed, or to arena rounds treated like battle-royale fights, and those are three separate fixes.
The settings guide is a frames argument with a cost attached to each option. Apex is more sensitive than most titles here to a handful of graphics settings, and the useful question is not which setting is fastest but which ones cost frames without changing what a player can see. Answering it in that order tends to produce a configuration a player keeps.
Legend combinations matter in duos more than in trios, because two legends cannot cover the roles three can. The combinations guide is about which pairs leave no gap rather than which legends are individually strongest, which is a different list.
Arena mode is round-based and economy-driven, and the habits that win battle-royale matches actively lose arena rounds. The beginners guide for it is short because the adjustment is conceptual rather than mechanical.
One thing to know before reading any Apex figure: statistics for a legend accumulate only while a tracker for that legend is equipped, and there are three tracker slots per legend. A season played without the relevant tracker equipped leaves a real gap in the record, which is explained in full on the statistics page.
Absent from this library, deliberately: a legend tier list. Apex rebalances often enough that a ranked list of legends is a snapshot of one patch, and the useful version of that question in a squad game is which legends cover each other rather than which is strongest alone — which the combinations guide answers without pretending to rank the roster.
Ranked behaviour is worth knowing before reading a figure. Rank runs on a points system with a seasonal re-seed, and placement contributes alongside kills, so two players on the same rank can have arrived by nearly opposite routes. The statistics page separates the figures that show which route was taken.

What Apex Legends records
Apex records statistics per legend, and only the trackers a player has equipped keep counting. An account can show 400 kills on one legend and nothing on another it has played for a season.
The headline figures for this title are kills, kd ratio, damage per match, wins, ranked points, and they come from eA account stats, surfaced per legend rather than per account, which is why per-legend and account totals rarely add up.

Ranked Points (RP). Rookie through Diamond hold four divisions each. Master is an RP threshold and Apex Predator is the top 750 accounts per platform, recalculated continuously. RP resets at the start of each split, with the entry cost scaling by tier.
The share of players sitting in each tier moves every season, so no fixed percentage is printed here, because a number published once would be wrong within weeks. The order is the part that holds.
The one title here that records per legend, not per account
Every other game on this site records against an account, a role, a playlist or a mode. Apex records against a legend, and then only through the trackers a player has chosen to equip, three slots at a time. That single design decision is why per-legend totals and account totals rarely add up, and why an account can show four hundred kills on one legend and nothing on another it has played for a whole season. Nothing in Fortnite or Warzone behaves this way, so a missing Apex figure means something different from a missing figure in either of them.
The ladder puts it further from its siblings. Rookie through Diamond hold four divisions each, more than any other ladder covered here, Master is a points threshold rather than a division, and Apex Predator is the top 750 accounts per platform recalculated continuously. Because points are awarded for placement and for kills together, one rank can be reached by two nearly opposite styles of play, and the position alone does not say which. That is the reason the three guides for this title address three unrelated problems rather than building on each other.
Damage per match is the Apex figure most often quoted against another game, and it is the least portable of the five. Match length varies far more here than in the other two battle royales, revives and respawn beacons extend a squad's time alive, and damage accumulates for as long as a squad survives rather than per round. A high figure can mean pressure applied or simply a long game. Compared against Warzone, where damage counts broken plates, the two are barely the same measurement, which the metrics reference sets out figure by figure.
Frequently asked questions
Which Apex Legends guide should be read first?
Whichever matches the symptom, since the three do not build on one another: frames, duo composition, or arena rounds played like battle-royale fights. That independence is unusual for a guide set here.
Why is there no legend ranking?
EA rebalances legends often enough that an ordering describes a single patch. In a squad game the durable question is which legends cover each other, and that is what the combinations guide answers.
Why does the settings guide not recommend a preset?
It prices each option instead. The useful question is which options buy nothing visible and charge frames for it, and answered that way a configuration tends to survive the next patch.
Why is part of my Apex record missing?
Check which trackers were equipped. There are three slots per legend and statistics accumulate only through them, so a season played without the relevant tracker leaves a real hole rather than a display error.
