Esports Betting Sites, Odds and How to Bet on Esports in the US

Esports betting sites sit on the same statistics the rest of this site takes apart, and a price is only as good as the figures behind it. This section covers which state-regulated sportsbooks list esports markets, how esports betting odds are assembled, where the markets are legal, and how to bet on esports without leaving the regulated market.

DISCLOSURE

Links to sportsbooks on this page are commercial links, and a payment may be received if an account is opened through one. It does not change what is written here: no operator on this page is rated, and the coverage notes describe what each book lists rather than how good it is. Nothing here is betting advice.

Books

Esports Betting Sites Regulated in the United States

LIST / 02

Seven state-regulated books list esports markets in the United States with any regularity. All seven hold state licences and operate inside the regulated market; offshore and crypto-only books, which carry deeper esports menus, are deliberately not listed here.

Two patterns separate them. A standing menu keeps esports markets open between tournaments, which matters if you follow a league rather than a single event. Event-driven coverage opens markets for a major and closes them afterwards. The distinction is more useful than any ranking of these esports betting sites, because it determines whether the market you want exists in the week you want it — and it is the first thing to establish when working out how to bet on esports at all.

State-regulated US sportsbooks that list esports markets. No ratings are shown — an editorial scoring pass has not been done, and a made-up score would be worse than none.
Sportsbook Esports titles listed Coverage pattern Site
DraftKings Sportsbook CS2, League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2 The widest esports menu among the state-regulated books, and the most consistent coverage outside major tournaments. Visit
FanDuel Sportsbook Major events Esports appears around the large tournaments rather than as a standing menu. Deep on traditional sport, shallow between esports events. Visit
BetMGM CS2, League of Legends (selected events) Selective coverage, usually the two titles with the most stable professional calendars. Visit
bet365 The most consistent standing markets Carries esports markets between tournaments more reliably than the other books here, a habit inherited from its international operation. Visit
Caesars Sportsbook Around major tournaments Esports is event-driven. Expect markets during a major and little in between. Visit
Fanatics Sportsbook Growing coverage The newest book in this set and the one whose esports menu has changed most between seasons. Visit
Hard Rock Bet During major events Narrow esports coverage tied to specific events, with availability that varies more by state than the others here. Visit

How Esports Betting Odds Are Assembled

MATH / 03

An esports price starts as a probability estimate, gets a margin added, and is then moved by the money that arrives. The probability estimate is the part built from statistics, and it is the part most exposed to the problems catalogued elsewhere on this site.

Consider what goes wrong. A model that reads a merged casual-and-ranked ratio is reading a player who warms up outside ranked as worse than they are. A model that reads account-level Apex figures is reading a floor rather than a measurement, because per-legend collection depends on which trackers were equipped. A model that reads a Counter-Strike figure without naming the match service is reading one pool and pricing another.

Professional esports data is better than public account data, teams and leagues publish structured match records, but the same class of error recurs at that level too, most often as a roster change that invalidates the history a price was built on. Esports betting odds move faster on roster news than on form for exactly this reason.

The margin is the second thing to read. Convert the price to an implied probability, add up the implied probabilities across every outcome, and the amount by which the total exceeds one hundred per cent is the book’s margin on that market. Esports margins are typically wider than on major traditional sport, because the modelling is harder and the liquidity is thinner.

What Separates One Esports Sportsbook From Another

BOOKS / 04

Between regulated sportsbooks the differences that matter for esports are narrower than the marketing suggests, and they are not the ones usually compared. Three are real.

Market depth per title. Match winner is universal. Map handicaps, correct map score, total maps, first blood and round-range markets are not, and they are where the modelling differences between books show up.

Which titles are carried at all. Counter-Strike and League of Legends are near-universal among the sportsbooks here. Valorant is common. Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch appear irregularly, and Call of Duty League coverage varies by season.

Whether the market survives between events. This is the practical difference and the least advertised one.

Legality

How to Bet on Esports Legally, State by State

STATE / 05

Two conditions have to hold before you can bet on an esports market: online sports betting must be legal in your state, and your state’s regulator must permit esports as a betting category. The second condition is the one people miss. Several states with fully regulated sportsbooks restrict esports, exclude it, or require each event to be approved individually before a market can open.

The practical sequence for how to bet on esports inside the regulated market is short. Confirm your state permits it. Open an account with a licensed book operating in that state. Complete identity verification, which is mandatory and not optional anywhere. Fund the account. Then check that the specific event you want is on the approved list, because a book can carry a market in one state and not in another on the same day.

Anything outside that sequence: an offshore book, a skin-betting site, a crypto casino offering esports lines, sits outside the regulated market, and outside it there is no regulator to appeal to when a payout is refused.

NOT LEGAL ADVICE

State positions change, and this page does not track them individually because a list printed here would be wrong within a season. Check your state regulator directly, and check the book’s own state availability page before opening an account.

Compliance

Responsible play

RG / 06

Every regulated book carries deposit limits, session limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, and all four can be set before a first bet rather than after a problem. Setting a deposit limit at account opening is the single most effective control available and takes under a minute.

Questions

Esports betting: frequently asked questions

FAQ / 07

Which US sportsbooks actually list esports?

Among the state-regulated books, DraftKings carries the widest standing menu and bet365 is the most consistent between tournaments. FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics and Hard Rock Bet list esports mainly around major events. Coverage changes season to season, and availability varies by state regardless of what the book lists nationally.

How are esports betting odds built?

From historical performance, current form and market money, in that order of decreasing influence as an event approaches. The statistical input is the part worth scrutinising: a model fed a merged casual-and-ranked ratio, or an account-level Apex figure that is really a floor rather than a measurement, is a model fed the wrong number.

That is the reason this section sits on a statistics reference rather than beside a tipster feed. The metrics pages on this site explain exactly which figures are merged, cached or capped, and those are the same figures a price is built on.

Is esports betting legal in the United States?

It depends entirely on the state, and it depends on two separate questions: whether online sports betting is legal there at all, and whether the regulator permits esports as a betting market. Several states allow sports betting but restrict or exclude esports, and some require event-by-event approval. A book listing an esports market nationally does not mean it can offer it to you.

Why are no operators rated on this page?

Because no editorial scoring pass has been done, and a fabricated score is worse than no score. What is published instead is factual: which titles each book lists and whether its coverage is standing or event-driven. That is checkable; a rating out of five is not.

Do the links on this page earn money?

Yes. The sportsbook links are commercial and a payment may be received when an account is opened through one. The disclosure appears next to them on every page that carries them, and it does not change the content: the coverage notes describe what each book lists, not how good it is.

What is the minimum age?

Twenty-one in every state with regulated online sportsbooks. Nothing on this site is directed at anyone younger, and nothing here is betting advice.
